A background should sit behind the text, not in place of it. This paragraph lies on the tile at its true scale — if it reads without effort, the tile can go under content.
Concentric diamond rings in blue, yellow, orange and red sit on a flat blue ground, each centre marked by a small square, with neighbouring diamonds merging into wavy lens shapes between them. The motif repeats on a regular grid, producing a rhythm of diamonds alternating with open blue lozenges in the gaps.
