Privacy
Last updated 26 October 2026.
tilejar has no accounts, no sign-up and no ads. Use is measured in two ways: counters on our own server, and Google Analytics, which runs only if you accept it. This page says what each one sees. The person responsible for the site is Piotr Kowalski, contact@tilejar.com.
Your photos
When you make a tile from your own photo in the generator, the photo is processed in your browser. It is never uploaded to tilejar.
Our own counters
The server counts what is used: downloads per tile, tiles opened in the generator or the mixer, exports per technique, and which filter combinations are browsed. These are totals. They hold no time of visit, no IP address and no identifier, and visits from known crawlers are not counted.
Google Analytics
tilejar can use Google Analytics to see where visitors come from and which pages they read. Nothing is loaded from Google, and no cookie is set, until you click Accept in the banner at the bottom of the page. If you reject, no request goes to Google.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (such as _ga) and sends Google your IP address, the pages you open and details of your browser and device. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Your choice is remembered for six months. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; rejecting there deletes the Google cookies again.
Hosting, images and fonts
The site runs on a server at Hetzner. Like any web server, it keeps ordinary request logs (IP address, requested page, browser) for operations and security. Tile images are served from a CDN at Cloudflare, which sees the same ordinary request details. The fonts are served by tilejar itself, so no request goes to a font provider.
What stays in your browser
tilejar itself sets no cookies. It stores two things in your browser, in local storage: your zoom choice for the tile preview and your cookie choice. Neither leaves your device.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or EEA, you have the usual rights over personal data: access, correction, deletion, objection. The data of Google Analytics sits with Google; for everything else write to contact@tilejar.com. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
