A background should sit behind the text, not in place of it. This paragraph lies on the tile at its true scale — if it reads without effort, the tile can go under content.
Interlocking medallions in muted taupe, slate blue and dusty mauve sit on a grey-blue ground, each ringed with feathered, flame-like scrolls around a diamond core with a small square centre. Diamond-shaped lozenges and pointed star forms fill the gaps, and the medallions repeat in a regular grid with a half-offset rhythm, forming a steady, rolling field.
