A background should sit behind the text, not in place of it. This paragraph lies on the tile at its true scale — if it reads without effort, the tile can go under content.
Interlocking star-like rosettes and elongated spiky lozenges in blue, orange, green, teal and purple form a dense field, with vertical columns of tiny ornamental medallions running between them. The rosettes repeat in a regular grid across the page, while the columns create a steady vertical rhythm that breaks up the sweep of the star shapes.
