A background should sit behind the text, not in place of it. This paragraph lies on the tile at its true scale — if it reads without effort, the tile can go under content.
Concentric octagonal medallions with pink and magenta centers ringed by lime-green and violet bands sit on an orange ground, alternating with bow-tie and hourglass forms in offset rows. The medallions and side motifs step across the grid in a staggered rhythm, so the eye reads diagonal chains of rings linked by smaller shapes.
